The Pinchuck Art Centre presents “Sexuality and Transcendence”, a major group exhibition, curated by Eckhard Schneider which will be held in Kiev from 24th April 2010 to 16th September 2010,hosting nineteen celebrated artists – as Jeff Koons, Anish Kapoor, Jenny Holzer, AES+F, Cindy Sherman, Matthew Barney, Elmgreen & Dragset, Paul McCarthy, Richard Prince, Boris Mikhailov, Takashi Murakami, Jan Fabre, Louise Bourgeois, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Sarah Lucas, Annette Messager, Tino Sengal, Maurizio Cattelan and Illya Chichkan -, devoted to sexuality and transcendence as a central theme of contemporary art. Here the desire reveals the relationship between reality and imagination as “the desire for the two things, sexuality and transcendence”- says Eckhard Schneider, General Director of the Pinchuk Art Centre and curator of the exhibition -, “dominates our existence, it is the driving force behind our earthly performance and – especially for artists – the search for an appropriate form”.
