All in a weekend, a three days event to celebrate the genius of Roberto Capucci, vibrant creative, genuine gentleman evoking the grace. That has recently held in Mantua and featured talks and other events under the sign of culture, fashion history, art and contemporary times, produced by the brand Twin-Set Simona Barbieri and organized in collaboration with Fondo Ambiente Italiano(FAI) and the renowned boutiques Bernardelli  of the bright Bruna Casella. The event has opened by a talk, which was held in the Mantova Bibiena Theatre (suggestive place which hosted the first performance by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart), moderated by the powerful journalist and art historian Michele Venturini which widely told about Roberto Capucci’s experience, by using the syncreticism, an unusual point of view( like the idea of wonder, concept which is the cornerstone of Baroque art as well as the work by Capucci), full of connections between history, art, fashion and contemporary times. Michele told about the couturier and at the same time talked about the idea of beauty, that idea which is embodied in the many creations made by the couturier. An open dialogue with the art he always kept alive as it is evidenced by the series of creations he dedicated to the work by Alberto Burri. Matter and structure, the patterns as the optical ones( that were turned into prints and featured in garments made of reps, a cloth which doesn’t exist since many times), the pleats, their sumptuous usage and other precious remarks concerning the making of the creations. A marvelous alchemy made of volumes and colors where – as Roberto Capucci asserts – sometimes “the color sometimes comes before the structure of a dress”. A detailed and generous talk which gave rise to a smashing evening interlude, celebrating fashion culture, high fashion and one of its most relevant leading characters.

It has recently presented in Milan at Entrata libera, awesome concept store focused on the search in the realm of design, the collection of accessories made in co-branding by Carmina Campus and Vibram making concrete the categorical imperative “Save waste from waste”. An idea developed by Carmina Campus, brand of accessories, jewelry and furniture created by the bright, overwhelming pioneer fashion designer, farm businesswoman and social activist Ilaria Venturini Fendi and shared today with Vibram, renowned brand producing the rubber soles, which gave rise to a smashing collection of bags, made by re-using the rubber – more precisely, as Ilaria told me, the first rubber plate, resulting from the start of productive process and therefore it is useless -, thus taking away this material from the dump and turning into something wonderful. That evidences which can create without destroying, respecting the environment and earth which host us. It’ another way to see life, the world surrounding us, another way of thinking, working, creating, making and producing fashion, which emphasizes the idea of elegance as bringer of value and values. A healthy ethic is embodied in a vibrant aesthetics where it shines the approach of matter- and reminds me of work by Alberto Burri – and refinement. The many bags, as the nice rubber clutch bags are decorated by little, fun patterns made of rubber as well as other items, joining the rubber to other materials as leather and fur and are genuine passé-partout.

It’s a perfect binomial to be in Brescia and come back to Penelope, the marvelous cathedral of conceptual fashion, created by the one and only Roberta Valentini and to see the its new look, made by the architect Antonio Gardoni and creator of artistic perfumery brand Bogue, who is inspired by the idea of staircase and made the interiors more catchy and comfortable. Here I attended at a shooting made by the brilliant photographer Erminardo Aliaj (I used calling Ermengardo due to Manzonian suggestions) and I appreciated the choices made by Roberta. It has been a smashing day which ended under the sign of epicureanism in a delicious restaurant Brescia restaurant, the Osteria Bianchi, where I enjoyed a typical dish, the beef with oil and the companion of Roberta, her fantastic tales that embody relevant chapters of fashion history as well as the bright ideas by Dario Bonetta and Alessandro Boccingher, my contubernals, co-founders of AplusB gallery, who gave me details about Brescia, its history, verticality and independent spirit it saved in the passing of time, something I felt walking on the streets which makes it unique, a place where going and coming back.

I recently visited Brescia, enchanting city – where to go and come back – and I was pleased to see along with Alessandro Boccingher and Dario Bonetta, the co-founders of the smashing AplusB Gallery, a small preview of “L’ avventura- die mit der liebe spielen”, group show curated by Lena Ipsen, which pays homage to the New realism film movement, is held at the Palazzo Guaineri Delle Cossere and runs through 5th July 2014. This marvelous building evokes Proustian suggestions and its disused interiors embodies mystery, sensuality and a caressing, poetic decadence which makes it magic. Here I appreciated the artworks of some young German artists, works of matter and dreamy-like etchings, featuring in this exhibition about that I tell more soon.
