Modernism, avant-garde, refinement and experimentation, symmetry and lightness, an elegance talking about the art of made in Italy and culture, this is the core of Spring/Summer 2015 collection by Fendi, paying homage to the architecture, the Rome Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana ( Rationalist building – hosting the brand Headquarters – which has drawn inspiration by the metaphysical painting by De Chirico) and its arches. Colors are light, natural and basic(black and white).  A wise game of cuts and transparencies enhances the silhouette along with marvelous prints and unusual reinterpretations in sophisticated way of cloths as denim. It features the orchid-motif  being embroidered in the invitation of fashion show and is impressed on shirts, trousers, dresses and accessories, bags ( as the legendary Baguette bag, enriched by many decorations and Peekaboo bag) and shoes, sandals, genuine masterpieces.

One of this marvelous happenings concerns my meeting with Stefano Mancuso, expert of vegetal neurology, director of LINV ( International Laboratory of Vegetal Neurology) who featured in the book launch of “Verde brillante. Sensibilità e intelligenza del mondo vegetale (Bright green. Sensibility and intelligence of vegetal world)” he wrote.

This event surprise me every year with new discoveries, successful meetings around a slow conscious and sustainable lifestyle.

I was amazed by the cross pollination from one grass to another, a practice which generates addiction of the insect. Another weird discovery concerned the relationship between a tree and the ants that are hosted and nourished by that tree, its body contains ingredients that create addiction and make the ants more aggressive. In fact the ants fight against every (little or big) creature to protect the tree.

I talked hilariously to Stefano about the vegetal creatures that play a role of mistress and pushers. The sensitivity evidenced in the vegetal world like the mimosa pudica (“pudica” stands as “prudish”), a kind of mimosa which reacts to the touch of a hand.

Stefano modestly encourages the knowledge and its sharing I consider this to be one of the beautiful gifts that came out of Floracult.

Rosa Sublime” book launch celebrates the family tradition of Vittorio Barni, the production and creation of new types of roses like the Mariangela Melato rose, a white rose that had been presented to the sister of the iconic Italian actress who passed away recently. Emma Bonino, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italian Government, the actress Isabella Ferrari and the director Lina Wertmuller all spoke about Mariangela Melato and her sense of freedom which the white rose in her honor evokes.

One day under the sign of nature I was pleased to share with Myriam B., bright fashion designer and dear friend of mine along with other friends.

FLORACULT (1): TRE GIORNI ALL’ INSEGNA DELLA NATURA & SOSTENIBILITÀ

f 2 14

Sofia Gnoli and me

It has recently presented in the suggestive Rome Orto Botanico the new book by Sofia Gnoli “Moda. Dalla nascita della haute couture a oggi”(Carocci, 34,00 Euros) during a talk featuring the author, her mentor, the professor and fashion historian Bonizza Giordani Aragno, the fashion designer and President of Alta Roma Silvia Venturini Fendi and the couturier Roberto Capucci. An afternoon to celebrate – along with emblematic personas of Italian fashion and culture – the work of a bright individual as well as yesterday and today Italian fashion history, being the past the trait d’ union with contemporary times where shines smashing creatives as Sergio Zambon, Marco De Vincenzo and many other ones of whose work is told by the book, marking – as Silvia Venturini Fendi rightly asserted – the importance of “making system in Italy” and contributing to making visible and known the new face of made in Italy. That is something continuing to be developed by institutions as AltaRoma showcasing and promoting the emerging creativity. I wish yesterday, today and tomorrow Italian fashion history and culture is promoted, considered and re-thought by a dynamic and syncretistic approach, successful chance for continuing to renew itself.

LA PRESENTAZIONE DEL LIBRO “MODA. DALLA NASCITA DELLA HAUTE COUTURE A OGGI” DI SOFIA GNOLI ALL’ ORTO BOTANICO DI ROMA

Bonizza Giordani Aragno, Sofia Gnoli, Silvia Venturini Fendi and Roberto Capucci
