It was recently held in Paris at the enchanting concept store Front de Mode, placed in the suggestive area of Marais, the presentation of “Underground seduction” the Fall/Winter 2016-2017 unisex collection by Naco Paris, which has enriched by “Kiss”, the performance made by the bright fashion designer as his alter ego Madame Paris. Fluid, sporty-chic lines, colors, bright shades of yellow along which black, white, green and blue, recycled cloths, rubber, catchy slogans as “have fun”, “kill the system”, “forever fake” are some of the patterns embodied in this smashing collection where it shines a punk attitude, made of irreverence, joy and activism. The same mood finds a new context in the art, a series of photographs, the self-portraits of Madame Paris that were exhibited in the concept store and the performance by Madame Paris( made by using the cruelty free lipstick by Nabla).

Intimacy and universality, the language of a gesture turning into matter, the kiss, which becomes a clear track of love and a way of being, the queerness, in its many shades, metaphor successfully made concrete on paper. Different are the tracks of lipstick on paper, some are more intense, reminding a passionate kiss, instead other ones are more delicate, different kisses for every occasion, though every occasion is good to kiss oneself and love oneself, love the ones you love, bring, give and spread love. That is the core of performance: to act, do, dream, love joyfully, without any limit. The universality of love remarks another issue, the queerness and gender fluidity – I support -, love nullifying the gender(, considering sexuality, sex and its different architectures is not about gender, it is just about individual’ s intimacy, something I respect and celebrate through silence and discretion). It’s a vibrant tale, being the successful evidence of a poetical and political way of making art and fashion, a genuine underground seduction for all the ones who are rebel hearts.

Innovation, experimentation under the sign of techno-sartorialism and sustainability shines in the work by Lucia Russo, Turin fashion designer of brand LüciāRüx²ōUrbānCōütürė. The young creative, supported by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion – who has presented the collections she made in Italy (during Milan Fashion Week, Florence Pitti and Altaroma), in Europe and recently also in Dubai – will present the Spring/Summer 2017 collection on 28th June 2016 in Turin, during the first edition of event Turin Fashion Week. It’s a psychedelic liberty what is impressed in the colored creations she made, emphasized by fluidi shapes and fun volumes reinterpreting the Seventies and successfully making concrete comfort, refinement and wearability, giving rise to genuine passé-partout. Here fashion will joins to music, alchemy accompanying the creative expression of Lucia – as it has evidenced by the past collaboration with the multidisciplinary artist and songwriter France de Griessen -, her flower power will dialogue with the music by Bea Zanin, talented singer who made “Plaza Victoire” – song paying homage to Turin – and will feature along with Diego Perrone in the fashion show of LüciāRüx²ōUrbānCōütürė, not to be missed happening to discover and enjoy a promising fashion designer.

Yesterday in Paris it has been the massacre at the headquarters of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, a heinous slaughter made by a group of Islamic terrorists, who killed 12 people “in the name of God” It’s always the same bad story, featuring the use and abuse of religion, combined to fanaticism, ignorance and violence. 12 innocent people died, who were just liable to work and release some comics making fun of terrorists. The moral, social, condemnation for this sad happening – which concerns the freedom every individual has to express oneself – stays, as well as my wish to Charlie Hebdo for continuing to do what it did. I join with the bright songwriter and visual artist France De Griessen who asserted (through by the art I am glad sharing) “the right to poetry, to laugh, to contest, to freely express oneself is such important as the air we breathe”. This unhappy happening also made me think about the meaning of religiosity as spiritual tension to God and consider again a precious consciousness embodied in the Vangel by Thomas (apocryphal Vangel reporting the words by Jesus): “The kingdom of God is inside you and all around you. It’s not in the buildings of stone and cement. Split a wood and I will be, lift a stone and you will find me there”.

“JE SUIS CHARLIE”: TERRORE E VIOLENZA CONTRO LA LIBERTÀ

Drawing by France de Griessen

Drawing by France de Griessen

Fashion and art, a smashing combination under the sign of L. Rousseau, brand created by the young, brilliant Italian fashion designer Lucia Russo, – supported by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion -, featured in the Amsterdam Mercedes Benz Fashion Week where it was presented “Urban cut-up”, the Fall/Winter 2014-2015 capsule collection she made. The name of collection represents its theme, the new context found by the “cut-up” literary technique created by William Burroughs ( this year is the centenary of his birth), moving to fashion, cutting and mixing elements to create a new idea of femininity and new visions enhancing the urban element. It’ s a play of cuts and mix of shapes, balancing each other, revealing the idea of “over sensuality”. The aesthetics coming from urban architectures, digital world, a video-game, the Tetris and the universe of nature inspires the whole collection and is impressed in the fun and colored prints (made on cotton poplin, silk and Milano Stitch scuba diving), a leitmotiv of work by the creative, inspired by optical art and Vaserely. It’s a dialogue between tradition and innovation, emphasizing an assertive and contemporary femininity. Sporty chic elements, skirts, trousers and highly technical coats, are combined with light, silk shirts, born to be genuine passé-partout. An intense connection between fashion and art, expressed on the catwalk also by songwriter France de Griessen, testimonial of brand – along with actress Cat Smits -, eclectic artist who opened the fashion show with a live performance, accompanied by Shanka. The live performance included tracks from her new album “Saint Sebastien“, embodying songs of joy and sadness under the sign of the most vibrant underground sounds. Her album has been released on 20th January 2014. France’s music successfully expressed the mood depicted in the collection by Lucia Rousseau, blending metropolitan suggestions and romanticism.

Being a strong assertor of the spontaneous collaborations under the sign of “peering” – that lack any connection to hierarchy and subordination to power positions – I am very glad every time I see creatives I appreciate who join together and give rise to works making concrete their creativity. That has recently happened with the video “Escaping” featuring the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection by brilliant fashion designer Axelle Migé aka Coppelia Pique and the song-writer, visual artist, author and blogger France de Griessen who stars in the video and performs the track “Beautiful”, successful evidence of power of sharing ideas, suggestions and creativity.

ALCHEMIE CREATIVE: COPPELIA PIQUE & FRANCE DE GRIESSEN
