It has recently presented in Milan at Entrata libera, awesome concept store focused on the search in the realm of design, the collection of accessories made in co-branding by Carmina Campus and Vibram making concrete the categorical imperative “Save waste from waste”. An idea developed by Carmina Campus, brand of accessories, jewelry and furniture created by the bright, overwhelming pioneer fashion designer, farm businesswoman and social activist Ilaria Venturini Fendi and shared today with Vibram, renowned brand producing the rubber soles, which gave rise to a smashing collection of bags, made by re-using the rubber – more precisely, as Ilaria told me, the first rubber plate, resulting from the start of productive process and therefore it is useless -, thus taking away this material from the dump and turning into something wonderful. That evidences which can create without destroying, respecting the environment and earth which host us. It’ another way to see life, the world surrounding us, another way of thinking, working, creating, making and producing fashion, which emphasizes the idea of elegance as bringer of value and values. A healthy ethic is embodied in a vibrant aesthetics where it shines the approach of matter- and reminds me of work by Alberto Burri – and refinement. The many bags, as the nice rubber clutch bags are decorated by little, fun patterns made of rubber as well as other items, joining the rubber to other materials as leather and fur and are genuine passé-partout.

Nature, its culture, art, design and fashion that celebrate old tradition, craftsmanship and sustainability have been the main features at Floracult, the event created by the pioneer fashion designer – of Carmina Campus, brand of ethical fashion which promotes the culture of re-use – which was held in the Rome countryside at La Storta, I Casali del Pino, staged by Studio Dottor, architects studio of Pietro Dottor.

One of the features has been the Scuola per reinventori (School for re-inventors), in its second edition, curated by Clara Tosi Pamphili and Alessio De Navasques which hosted a factory of hand-embroidery and installation that showcased the sketches by Vincenzo Montini along with the vintage clothes by Elisabeth the first

It was also on show a bright idea, the digital vegetable garden, which joined the multimedia and the vegetable world, giving the chance to know immediately and easily about a grass by clicking on the picture of a grass.

I also was pleasantly amazed by the exhibition of photographs made by the visual and performer artist Emiliano Maggi which told about the tradition of boar-hunting under the sign of grotesque suggestions.

Suggestions concerning interior design by Costanza Algranti, we spoke and she told me how she found everything in the roof oxidized that became an intrinsic part of the furniture she created. The shades depict the silhouette of a woman and other lyrical suggestions that make these creations something beyond interior design and closer to an artwork.

Floracult, a three-days event  celebrating the nature has recently opened at the agritourism “I Casali del Pino”, an enchanting village – renovated  by using of bio-architecture techniques by the architect Domenico Straface, made by Dottor – in the suggestive Rome countryside, created by Ilaria Venturini Fendi, vibrant woman and bright designer of brand Carmina Campus, featuring art, fashion and culture paying homage to the nature, its inhabitants and the products arising from that. Here it shines the colors of many flowers and grasses, exhibited along with masterpieces of craftsmanship as the shoes made by Giulia Campeol, a fun interpretation of the Friulane – typical Venice shoes – the sculptures and installations created by Serge Van de Put and Johannes Dimpfilmeier, being under the sign of recycle and re-use, paradigm promoted by Ilaria Venturini Fendi – pioneer of ethical fashion in Italy -, the time stops and it happens – as I experienced – to dive into beauty, peace, emotions and feelings deeply connected to humanity. Colors, scents, genuine flavours and sweet emotions are accompanying my wonderful days at Floracult, successfully evidencing to which extent man can re-think about itself, change and make the world better, just looking at nature, learning by its modest and simple lessons, taking care of itself as well as its hosts.

FLORACULT, LA POESIA DELLA NATURA DI ILARIA VENTURINI FENDI (I)

Sculpture by Serge Van De Put
